The theatrical project “Hardly a Fairytale” is part of the socio-cultural initiative "On the Raft," created in collaboration with three international non-profit organizations.
Paris/Berlin/Kyiv – A joint initiative by Ki.La.Ba (Vyshgorod, UA), Odesa Cultural Dialogue (Kyiv, UA), and D.U.S.T. (Paris, FR). The pioneering product of this alliance was made possible with the support of Culture Helps, a project co-funded by the EU's Creative Europe program.
The first show took place in Paris, along with the presentation of the book-theater “The Light is Me.”
On March 31, 2024, the public attended the theatrical performance “Hardly a Fairytale” at the Théâtre de la Comédie Italienne (17 Rue de la Gaité, 75014 Paris). Based on the story by Ivanna Danyliuk, the play written by Kostyantyn and Dmytro Novytskyi promises to immerse the audience in an ocean of atmospheric impressions through special effects, animation and music. Narrated through a metaphorical landscape of light and sound, this live adventure speaks simultaneously to the hearts of children and adults across Europe. The motif of a distant homeland also permeates the story – the charitable project was personally supported by the renowned Ukrainian band “Okean Elzy” and Natalia Buzko (Theatre MASKI, Maski Show).
The first show of the autumn season, featuring talented Ukrainian actors Iryna Rura (Kherson), Viktoria Shepshelei (Odesa), and Denys Fesenko (Mariupol), will take place on September 29 at the Maison de la Place des Fêtes.
